Job Description
We are looking for a high calibre and strong academic college leaver with high potential who is looking for an alternative to university and to start their career in Estimating / 3D Modelling and in the Steel industry.
The right person will be an ambitious and highly motivated individual with a strong work ethic who is keen to learn, develop and progress.
You will have a good attention to detail and be able to follow processes and procedures. You must also have strong communication skills and be comfortable working both as an individual and as part of a team
The successful candidate should be customer focussed and commercially aware with a professional approach, an effective team member working within the Estimating Team whilst also liaising closely with all departments across the business.
The role will be predominantly office based.
The role will require the successful candidate to work from detailed drawings and specifications, previous experience is not essential but advantageous. To produce 3D TEKLA models to assist the Estimator.
The role will report into the Lead Commercial Modeller and will include training, development, and support over a training contract period, during which time you will study towards certain qualifications. You will gain a wide variety of hands-on experience in all aspects of Estimating / 3D Modelling.
After the initial training contract there is opportunity to further expand and develop the role to take on more responsibility and undertake further qualifications to progress.
Required Experience
- A* to C in Maths and English at GCSE or equivalent.
- Three A-levels or equivalent at A* to C (obtained or predicted).
- Strong organisational skills, ability to prioritise tasks and manage deadlines.
- Excellent MS office and IT skills, particularly MS Excel.
Position Type
This role will be full time working hours (37.5 hours per week) and will be based at our office in Wombwell, Barnsley.
