The highlight of the event was a festive Christmas jumper day, accompanied by a buffet and a Christmas themed virtual quiz. However, the true essence of the occasion was in the company’s commitment to raising funds for Cancer Research UK. Employees actively joined in these activities, not only nurturing a sense of unity within the company but also contributing to a greater cause.

One of the standout initiatives was the inclusion of a Secret Santa exchange, with a unique twist. Employees were encouraged to purchase gifts from local charity shops, promoting the support of their local community. This added a heart warming touch to the festivities as well as highlighted the company’s dedication to giving back in meaningful ways.

In total, the Billington Holdings Group raised nearly £300 for Cancer Research UK. Additionally, over £300 was allocated to various charities through the Secret Santa initiative, reinforcing the company’s commitment to supporting not just large organisations but also smaller charities that play crucial roles in their communities.

The overarching theme of the Christmas 2023 fundraiser centered on local community social value, emphasising support for charities close to employees and their communities. It showcased that having fun and giving back can go hand in hand, fostering a culture of philanthropy within the company.

Among the notable beneficiaries of the fundraiser were Barnardos, Briony, WWF, Radar, Oxfam, BIADS (Barnsley Independent Alzheimer’s And Dementia Support), Debra, Salvation Army, British Heart Foundation, Kirkwood Hospice, and, of course, Cancer Research UK. By contributing to such a diverse range of causes, Billington Holdings demonstrated its commitment to making a positive impact on the world, one festive celebration at a time.
