Wakefield Waste PFI

WAKEFIELD

Billington Structures are providing the steel framework for 7 buildings across 2 sites with a weight of approximately 1200 tonnes of steel.

6 of the buildings will be built in South Kirby, West Yorkshire for a residual waste treatment facility which will recycle waste from the Wakefield District transforming it into valuable products and green energy. There will also be a visitor centre at the site to be used for the purpose of waste education and the promotion of waste minimisation.

This project will have a positive effect on the local economy by generating many permanent jobs and increase its recycling rate by a minimum of 13%.
