The Coventry Water Park and Leisure Centre, also known as ‘The Wave’ will provide the city centre with a state-of-the-art leisure facility.
The £36m development will provide a water park with a range of slides, a lazy river, wave pool, spa, 25m-long swimming pool, 120 station gym, dance studio and squash courts.
Billington Structures provided over 1100 tonnes of steel on this project. To form the rooftop diagrid, Billington installed a total of 14 trusses, seven spanning in one direction and the others spanning at an adjusted angle of 90 degrees.
At this year’s UK Tekla Awards, we received two awards for this project – Sports & Recreation, and the Public Vote.
The Wave is due to open in 2019.
