On 12th December, staff members across the Billington Holdings Group joined together to raise money for Alzheimer’s Society, with some seasonal silliness!
To get us in the mood, staff dug out their favourite festive knits from the back of the wardrobe and donated £1, those a little more daring went for the full-festive fancy dress hog with some fantastic outfits! The fancy dress competition was judged by our ‘bah humbug’ HR team, and the winner was:
The Design Team with their ‘Bethlehem Experience’! The judges loved the originality of this entry and the traditional Christmas Story message, with a twist. They were particularly impressed with the amount of detail put in to this: the inclusion of Christmas favourites such as Shaun the Sheep, Pepper Pig and Ringo Starr!
In addition, this year we did something a little different in the form of a ‘Memory Tree’. Located in Reception, staff were encouraged to write their favourite memory on a tag and add it to the tree, paying a donation. There were some lovely Christmas memories of loved ones past and present, and it really brought home the meaning of Christmas.
Living with Alzheimer’s, or loving someone with Alzheimer’s is a tremendous challenge, but we hope that at this magical time of year, our donation will help in some small way to help.
All employees from across the Group were entered into an ‘all donations welcome’ prize draw, for the chance to win some fantastic prizes gifted by our generous clients and suppliers.
The pennies have been counted and we are happy to announce that we raised £600, for the Alzheimer’s Society!
So, from everyone at Billington, we wish you a very Merry Christmas and a bright New Year!
