Local structural steelwork specialists, Billington Structures, supported the British Heart Foundation Wear it. Beat it. campaign on 6th February by rocking up in red, hosting a bake sale, raffling off some fantastic prizes and washing cars.
We at Billington Structures got involved because so many of us within the organisation have been affected in one way or another by heart disease. Whether it’s losing a family member, knowing someone who has suffered or dealing with heart problems ourselves, we feel the charity does a fantastic job and this is a way of showing our support for their hard work and dedication. It was incredibly easy to organise the event and we had a lot of fun on the day. We are proud to have raised £550.00 for the BHF and to have helped continue to fund the vital research needed to fight heart disease.
Louise Parkes, Fundraising Director at the BHF, said “A huge thanks to Billingtons for their red-themed fundraising efforts. It has been fantastic to witness the UK rallying together and turning up in red in the fight against heart and circulatory disease. All money raised from Wear it. Beat it. will help us truly make a massive difference to the millions of people living with these conditions.”
