Steelwork Manufacture Process
With steel fabrication plants in Barnsley and Bristol we have the capability to process over 40,000 tonnes of steel per annum.
Steelwork Manufacture Process
With a combined weekly steel fabrication capability of more than 1500 tonnes, we can meet even the most demanding of programmes.
Our sites have a loyal, trained and highly skilled fabricators and utilise CNC machines that are fully integrated with the drawing office software. Our manufacturing process is facilitated with steel being supplied from steelwork distribution centres in planned ‘Lots’. Lead times are vastly reduced due to the software link between us and our suppliers.
Fittings and main shafts are assembled and painted in up to 25 tonne erectable batches that are monitored through the production process in our STRUMIS production data management system. Our in-house beam straightening / cambering machines provides us with the ability to pre-camber a wide range of sizes and types of steel section.
Shot blasting is carried out after fabrication, thus ensuring that all items are thoroughly cleaned, prior to the application of paint. Painting is then carried out in a purpose-built controlled environment.
