Aldi Regional Distribution Centre – Darlington

DARLINGTON

The Aldi Regional Distribution Centre in Darlington was extended to meet the rise in demand as the supermarket chain continues to grow. Without the extension of the distribution centre, Aldi may not be able to continue their operations from the site. The extension is required to meet rising shopper demand in the region.

DSP Construction were the main contractor and they have worked on other Aldi Distribution centres in the UK. Billington Structures provided the structural steel frame for the extension to the building. The site consists of a total area of 1.68 hectares and the development includes an extension to the warehouse, extension to offices, and the replacement of the existing car park with a new two-storey car park, along with an extended goods out apron and a new truck office.

Peter Marshall Steel Stairs also work on the extension of the distribution centre. They delivered plant platform and steel stairs for the expanded warehouse.
