Lombard Street

LONDON

The Lombard Street development, situated in the centre of London’s financial district, covers 58,000 square feet of space, which will replace an existing 8-story building with 12 new floors. ISG Construction were awarded the contract and they will strip and then demolish the old building, ahead of construction.

Billington Structures are providing and installing a 12-storey structural steel frame covering two basements and 10 above-ground floors, which will increase the existing available office space. The £29 million building includes a double-height atrium, and terrace levels on the seventh and ninth floors. The office accommodation will be on the ground floor and nine upper floors. The building will also include a lower ground floor and basement. The new building is expected to achieve an BREEAM Excellent environmental rating. This will be achieved through the building materials and efficient mechanical and electrical services.

The new building will significantly increase the amount of office space to let with the addition of the upper stories and extension of the former building. The column free office space has been designed to maximise the potential of the enlarged floorplates, and provide the greatest flexibility for future tenants.
