First Way Campus

WEMBLEY

First Way Campus is a new state of art campus with teaching facilities and student accommodation. Developer Cole Waterhouse named Bowmer and Kirkland as the contractor for the development of this project which is part of the ongoing Wembley Park Regeneration Area.

The £54 million project, is just a few minutes’ walk from Wembley Stadium and it will included 680 student bedrooms as well as a mix of academic office and outdoor space. Accommodation at the First Way Campus also includes a students’ union, gym, sports lab, canteen and library for the University Campus of Football Business (UCFB) with student terraces and rooftop pavilions. The teaching block offers seminar spaces, a flexible auditorium hall as well as an IT area, library, a coffee bar and a separate study area.

First Way Campus will be a fantastic space for students and this project is a significant part of the Wembley Park Regeneration Area. London is the UK’s largest student accommodation market and the supply of purpose-built beds will be much needed boost as supply is often behind demand. First Way Campus aims to plug the gap by providing high quality accommodation in Wembley Park, which is in the north west of London. This puts it very close to excellent transport links, shops, restaurants and leisure facilities.

Billington Structures provided structural steelwork to the site for construction company, Bowmer and Kirkland. As part of the construction phase, and to meet tight deadlines, modern methods were deployed. These included pre-fabricated room mods that are then slotted into the central steel framework.

The student residences, as part of First Way Campus, will include a mix of studio apartments as well as two, three and five bed cluster apartments. There will also be 25,000 square feet of office space that will be available to rent. This project is just one of many that will regenerate the area and bring new investment to the city.
