Balmoral Tanks

BARNSLEY

Balmoral Tanks, a leading manufacturer of water, waste-water storage and processing products, has invested more than £10 million in a new purpose-built factory in Barnsley.

The new facility will help Balmoral Tanks to upgrade its manufacturing processes for its range of epoxy coated and concrete tanks. The company is recognised as being a key supplier to the water, waste-water, anaerobic digestion, fire-fighting and processing industries worldwide.

Billington Structures have provided over 200 tonnes of structural steel towards the project. The new factory will also have a brand new epoxy coating line, in-line shot blasting unit, latest laser cutting technology and fabrication facilities.

By investing in new technology, it will allow the engineering company to remain at the forefront of coated tank technology. The company has raised the bar on the storage tank industry as many of its products are accredited to industry standards including ISO 9001, LPCB, FM Global, and WRAS.

Enterprising Barnsley, the economic development arm of Barnsley Council, has worked closely with Balmoral Tanks and has provided tailored business support. This allowed the company to identify a number of site within the borough that they could look at redeveloping. The Council also provided information on processes, planning and how to accelerate the development process. Enterprising Barnsley works closely with new and existing businesses to create and retain jobs in the borough and is dedicated to turn Barnsley into a thriving and vibrant economy.

The major investment also means Balmoral Tanks is planning to grow the company and remain an active employer in the South Yorkshire community for many years. It will turn a previously derelict site in Barnsley into a thriving business hub, creating new skilled engineering jobs in the area which will boost the local economy.
