Billington are one of a number of local companies that make up the Team of Steel, and will be responsible for providing the plinth on which the man sits.
The design works are already well underway and it won’t be long until work on site commences.
The project is also working in collaboration with British Heart Foundation, by means of a 2.5 tonne steel heart, on which you can donate to have your name engraved (see official website below).

The Heritage Lottery Fund project will be a lasting tribute to the legacy of steel that South Yorkshire is so very proud of. Billington are extremely excited to be contributing to this project and look forward to watching this iconic concept take form.
