Celebrations at Bristol Children’s Hospital

Celebrations at Bristol Children's Hospital Billington Structures

On Thursday 2nd May, celebrations of Paul’s House first anniversary took place at the Bristol Royal Hospital for Children in the Outpatients department.

Honoured to be invited to the event, Billington Structures was proud to show their support for the Grand Appeal charity on this remarkable achievement. Over the years, Billington has supported the Grand Appeal after an employee’s son was sadly taken into the hospital and after a long battle with Lymphoma Cancer, tragically lost his fight. Tia Collins, a GB Team Gymnastic whom Billington have supported with her GB Team funding back in 2016 and 2018, also came along to support both parties.

It has been one year since the opening of Paul’s House – free accommodation for families of patients in Bristol Children’s Hospital. Paul’s House has supported over 200 families from across the South West of England, South Wales and beyond who have children being treated in the hospital. Based just across from the Bristol Royal Hospital for Children, the house has eight en-suite rooms, kitchen facilities and a laundry room. Paul’s House is open 24/7, 365 days every year for families of critically ill cancer, cardiac and major trauma patients. The evening was a chance for families, patients, long-time supporters, hospital staff and ambassadors to reflect on the past year, and to hear about the huge impact that the house has made so far for the hospital’s staff, patients and families.
