On Friday 2nd August, Billington Holdings Charity Foundation hosted their 4th Annual Charity Hog Roast at Yate, Bristol.
The chosen charities for the event were Muscular Dystrophy UK and Bristol Children’s Hospital Charity, The Grand Appeal; both of which are very close to the hearts of our Yate team.
The sunshine was glorious and there was plenty of food and drink for all to enjoy. Our staff and their families all joined in to raise lots of money with the help of our fantastic raffle.
2 weeks later, we had a BBQ fun day at the Head Office in Barnsley. Instead of the Hog Roast tradition, we had BBQ food with children rides, an ice cream van and a stage with local artists singing their hearts out!
Although the weather wasn’t great, everyone still enjoyed themselves and all for these great charities. This year, we chose to sponsor our local, Barnsley Hospice and the national charity, Alzheimer’s Society. These charities have a special meaning to our staff and provide a great deal of support to the community.
To help raise as much money as possible, our staff and their families bought plenty of raffle tickets, thanks to the help of our wonderful suppliers for their donations.
Billington are pleased to announce that the joint total raised at these events was an amazing amount of £5,800 – our highest total to date! This will be divided equally to each of our four worthy charities.
We would like to say a special thank you to everyone who donated prizes, pledged money and joined in with the celebrations!
