Billington Structures and Shafton Steel Services recently hosted visitors from Ficep to demonstrate the Valiant, the latest three spindle CNC drilling line for profiles and beams.
The team from Ficep, and a number of their customers, visited both Billington company sites in Yorkshire to see the Valiant in action on the production line, Ficep where it’s used for the processing of rolled structural steel. Its innovative design, features, and processes are necessary requirements for structural steel fabricators to meet the evolving needs of customers.
Richard Parker, Production Director, at Billington Structures said “We believe our investment in new technology keeps us at the forefront of the industry. It was a pleasure to be able show off the Valiant to the team from FICEP and their guests.”
“It was really exciting to see the Valiant in action,” said Chris Berriman, Sales Director from Ficep. “I just want to say a massive thank you to Billington Structures and Shafton Steel Services for allowing FICEP to visit both sites with customers who attended the Ficep open house event.”
He continued, “Billington and Ficep UK have a strong long-standing relationship which we have built over 23 years, having installed seven Ficep systems across its three sites. We are both passionate about delivering high-quality products to meet the changing needs of our customers in their respective environments. It was such a pleasure to invite other Ficep customers to see some of the machines in action and to hear from Billington colleagues about what makes ours such a successful partnership.”
Ficep had over 100 customers visit their showroom over two days and most of them had an opportunity to see the live production line. A significant concern within Britain’s steel industry is the move towards smart factories with more automation, which will require additional skills, software, training and equipment. The open day at Billington demonstrated the company’s commitment to utilising new technology in preparation for the next evolution of the steel industry.
