Billington Structures delivered structural steelwork for a major data centre in Hayes, supporting a hyperscale campus with 57MW of IT capacity.
This data centre in Hayes forms part of a major hyperscale campus in West London, designed to support increasing demand for cloud services and digital infrastructure. The development comprises two interconnected six-storey buildings providing approximately 49,000m² of gross floor area and 57MW of IT capacity, making it one of the largest facilities within Colt's London portfolio.
Designed to a Tier 3 specification, the facility was developed to support increasing demand for high-bandwidth connectivity, cloud services and enterprise-scale digital infrastructure. The project forms a key part of the client’s continued investment in expanding its UK data centre footprint.
Billington Structures was appointed to deliver the structural steel package, providing the design, fabrication and supply of the primary and secondary steelwork. The company's scope also included metal decking and fire protection systems, supporting the delivery of a robust and highly resilient structure capable of meeting the demanding requirements of a modern data centre environment.
Given the scale and complexity of the development, close collaboration was required throughout the project to coordinate the structural steel design with the wider construction programme. Billington worked closely with the client, consultants and project team to ensure the efficient delivery of the steelwork package while maintaining quality, safety and programme objectives.
This data centre in Hayes highlights Billington Structures' experience in delivering complex structural steel solutions for large-scale digital infrastructure projects and further strengthens the company's position within one of the fastest-growing sectors of the construction industry.
