Billington Structures is delighted to receive not one, but two awards at this year’s UK Tekla Awards for project Coventry Leisure Centre and Water Park!
Not only did Billington win the category Sports & Recreation Project, but also won the Public Vote, which was an incredible achievement for the company. With 33 projects shortlisted across eight categories, winning the two awards has been a fantastic success.
Coventry Water Leisure Centre and Water Park is a state-of-the-art £36m development in the heart of the city, part of a large regeneration programme. The landmark complex replaces a council office block on a tightly constrained site next to the city’s 70m-high Grade II listed Christchurch Spire. The building contains a 25m swimming pool, numerous sporting facilities, gym, spa and a 6-ride pool ride hall with wave pool and lazy river.
Coventry Water Park is due to open in 2019.
